Adding Touches of Spring to the Living Room

Hopefully, we've finally put winter behind us!  Even if it makes another appearance, I've brought spring into the house anyway! Spring has always been my favorite season, even as a child.  I couldn't wait for green grass, birds chirping, baby animals, and sunshine after a long, harsh winter on the farm.  Maybe that's why I tend to decorate with spring-like home decor all year round?

DIY Spring Clay Pots & Michaels Pinterest Party

Are you ready for Spring yet?  I certainly am!  Although I can never complain about the winters in North Carolina after living in snow country most of my life, I'm over this weather.  Ironically, I'm posting about decorating clay pots for Spring when we are currently in the middle of "snowpocalypse" here in the South.  If you're feeling the same way about Winter, then hopefully this little project will cheer you up...

Revived Ice Cream Parlor Set

I've always liked those cute antique ice cream parlor table and chair sets that you see here and there, but they are getting harder and harder to find them inexpensively.  I actually snagged this set quite a while back to keep and use for a little breakfast-area table or out on the porch at my own home, but it never did land anywhere in my current house.

Cottage-Inspired, Casual Easter Brunch and Spring Tablescape

Easter Brunch and Spring Tablescape
Easter is just less than a month away!  It still feels like winter in North Carolina this weekend and I'm hoping the weather turns as egg hunts are much more enjoyable when it's warm!  Despite the cold weather, I brought in fresh flowers to help it feel like Spring and put together a simple, cottage-inspired Spring and Easter brunch tablescape that I hope inspires you for the upcoming holiday...

Spring Project Round-Up

Spring is right around the corner and I know many of us are ready to freshen up the house, plant some flowers, and feel the sunshine again.  Although the booth and recent furniture projects have been keeping me busy, I'm also turning my attention to projects around the house that need a touch of Spring.  I finished painting my formerly dark powder room with a new clean, light color and am in the process of finishing this room up and will share soon!  There's also a few bouquets of fresh flowers waiting for me to arrange for an Easter brunch tablescape that I'm working on along with a new spring mantel.  While I work on these, I thought I'd share some Spring inspiration from the past...

Some Framing Projects, Bringing in Spring, and a New Rug

I'm one of those who pretty much decorates for spring all year around.  From my garden-inspired Christmas tree to a living room and dining room that I always try to keep light and airy, spring just makes me feel better...I'm not a winter person at all!

Spring-Inspired Jewelry & Simple Bird Pendant Tutorial

I don't know about you, but I could skip Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day and head straight to spring!  Even though I don't have much to complain about weather-wise here in NC, I'm just ready for leaves, birds, flowers and green grass. Call it the January blues...

Luckett's Design House Tour

As promised, this is the last of my photos that I took last weekend at Luckett's Spring Market.  Not only do they have the most fabulous "vintage hip" antique store, but they have the Luckett's Design House as well.  The Design House features high-end furniture and accessories that are so beautifully incorporated into rooms in an old house on the Luckett's property.  I'm telling you...there was so much to take in last weekend!

Luckett's Spring Market 2012 ~ Part One

Whew, what a wonderful weekend!  Luckett's Spring Market was absolutely fabulous.  All the vendors and shoppers were so kind and welcoming, the weather was perfection, and I was walking around with a big smile on my face all weekend!  I owe a giant THANK YOU to everyone that came by to shop and visit!  I got to meet some new friends and visit with those I've met through the blog world too.

Funky Junk Show - Spokane, WA

Hey there...it's been a while!  My mom and step-dad were visiting for a little over a week so I didn't get many projects done, but we did several "antique field trips" that I can't wait to share with you.  I've also been kicking it into high gear getting ready for the big Luckett's Spring Market next month.   I've been doing quite a bit of shopping and hitting the flea markets and I've got some great finds that post as soon as I get them cleaned up and ready to go.

Spring Front Porch and Wreath Project

I've been sprucing up my front porch a bit for spring the last couple of weeks.  It's been so unseasonably warm that it feels like it's June back in the Pacific Northwest! I know that I need to just soak up these moderate temperatures before the heat of the southern summer sets in.  I've been adding just a few potted plants, pillows, and touches of spring...

My Spring Mantel

It's no secret that I'm pretty much obsessed with birds, nests, branches...pretty much anything nature-inspired, so when it came to decorate my mantel for spring, all I needed to do was turn to things I already decorate my house with all year around.

Funky Junk Fun!

Ok, I've finally located my camera with the few pictures that could snap before the battery on my camera died and the show was about to start.  I can finally share a few of the pics of the Angel's Attic booth that I participated in at the Funky Junk Show this past weekend.  First of all, I have to say that I had an absolute blast at this show!  Jennifer and Hollie were such great hosts and we couldn't have asked for anything.  The other vendors all had great "junk" and it was hard setting up our booth because I like to peek at all the goodies that everyone else has brought!  The shoppers that came out were awesome and it was a fun, crazy, whirlwind weekend.

Remember this chippy old door?

Next up, the Angel's Attic Spring Open House on April 24th!

Easter Highlights

I realize that has already been a few days since Easter, but I left my camera at my mom's house (oops) until today.  I wanted to share some of the lovely Easter moments that we had.  Luckily, the sun made an appearance (after snowing the previous two days) and all the girls were able to make it outside for the egg hunt.  This seemed to be a particularly special Easter as both of my brothers were able to be in town.  My oldest brother lives in Atlanta and he doesn't usually make it to the Easter dinners, but happened to be in the area for work.  My husband was also able to be part of the festivities.  That may sound odd, but he's had to work on Easter quite a few times (he's a tax accountant).  It's a shame, but that's all about to change soon...stayed tuned!
(My husband with our youngest girl, Summer)

(My little Easter bunny at 9 months!)

Instead of buying candy and filling Easter baskets for the older girls, we decorated cupcakes and put them in these cute little baskets.  Even the green grass is edible!

I love coming up with creative ways to dress a table.  My mom usually does the table decorations because the meals are at her house, but I wanted to plan this one just because I love spring!  Any excuse to decorate...

I hope everyone had a great Easter this year!
