Cottage-Inspired, Casual Easter Brunch and Spring Tablescape

Easter Brunch and Spring Tablescape
Easter is just less than a month away!  It still feels like winter in North Carolina this weekend and I'm hoping the weather turns as egg hunts are much more enjoyable when it's warm!  Despite the cold weather, I brought in fresh flowers to help it feel like Spring and put together a simple, cottage-inspired Spring and Easter brunch tablescape that I hope inspires you for the upcoming holiday...

Instead of a traditional Easter dinner, I thought a brunch setting would be fun and casual...and who doesn't love brunch?!
Spring Easter Tablescape Place Setting Idea
I'll never forget "my first brunch"... I was just a little, small-town farm girl on vacation to visit relatives in California.  I'd never heard of brunch before, but my great-aunt insisted we all sit down for a fancy meal at a swanky hotel in the middle of the morning!
Spring Easter Dining Room
I was hooked... As a lover of breakfast food, I wasn't about to turn down a second breakfast.  I never understood why we didn't continue this "brunch-thing" when we got back home to the farm!
I think Easter is the best time to have a brunch... You rise early, grab something small to eat, and hustle the family out to church.  When you arrive home, the kids are begging to begin their annual egg hunt and fill their bellies with chocolate and jelly beans...
...But you want them to first get some nutritious food and you want to keep the cooking simple.  It's as easy as serving fresh fruit, ham and biscuits...
Ham Biscuits for Easter Brunch
...muffins and jam...
...and you can't forget the fresh, brewed coffee and orange juice...
Easter Brunch Ideas

Easter Egg Dying Idea Place Setting
By simply writing your family's names on a cooked egg with crayon before dying them, you can easily create one-of-a-kind place settings for your brunch.  The dye doesn't stick to the wax...
Easter Spring Table Place Setting
Since the food is simple, the place settings and table decorations should follow suit.  Inexpensive mums from the grocery store mixed with cut branches from the backyard placed in white pitchers is as simple as it gets...
Placing $2 daffodil pots from Trader Joe's in some clay pots topped with Spanish moss and decorative eggs is also easy peasy.
If you want to get really fancy, you can tie some baskets or other Spring-inspired element to the backs of your dining chairs...

Decorating Backs of Chairs for Spring
It doesn't take much to make to transform a table for a special occasion and your family will love it...
...for all about two seconds before they scarf down the food and begin nagging to start the egg hunt!

Oh my goodness!!! This tablescape is gorgeous! I love so many things about this... The greenery entwined baskets hanging from the chairs, the white dishes, the pale color scheme... Beautiful! The room itself is perfect- the creams, blues and botanical prints.

Come make my house just as pretty? :)

You did a fabulous job on this! I love all the white serving pieces pieces. The bright green cushion mums with the white fuji mums look fabulous! It's so fresh and springlike! Those cappucino cups are awesome too! The food looks so good and I love how you presented it. Are those real daffodils from Trader Joes? We don't have one locally but I know my son lives near one. I like the thick moss on them. Your extra baskets with little flower pots on the back of the chairs is too cute! Great job!

In order to save space and not leave too long a comment, I have to say everything I see in your dining room is glorious, gorgeous, well thought out. Where did you get those adorable little baskets hanging on backs of chairs? Your wall color is so warm with the gorgeous blue drapes. You sure did top it all girl. Happy March days.

Hi, Kristen! Shirley from Housepitality Designs suggested I visit your blog. I don't think I've been here before, but don't know how on earth I missed it since we both participate in Tablescape Thursdays! Hmmmm....I must be losing my mind! :-) Oh, well! This is a gorgeous table, and I love the simple-yet-elegant styling that extends from the table all around your dining room. The baskets on the chairs are a fabulous touch! I really like the tip for the crayon on the Easter eggs, too!
