I've always been the sort of person that likes to take the way less traveled. I'd much rather take a winding country road lined with farms and homesteads than an interstate or highway clogged with traffic and billboards. Maybe it's because I grew up on those country back roads as our family's dairy farm was little ways away from the small, rural town that we lived by? It's all I ever knew until I was 18 and I'm still very much that farm girl longing to get back to the country.

Spring Front Porch and Wreath Project
I've been sprucing up my front porch a bit for spring the last couple of weeks. It's been so unseasonably warm that it feels like it's June back in the Pacific Northwest! Desk Chair Makeover and the Beginnings of My New Creative Space

8ft Farm Table
I just love a good, solid farm table. I hunted high and low for months for the perfect, huge (and affordable) farm table for my dining room in my new house last fall and didn't find it... I ended up with a large trestle table that I really love, but I finally found that elusive farm table a few weeks ago!

Quick and Easy DIY Coasters
I'm not really a "coaster person"...with three little kids that drive toy cars, play games, and put their feet up on our wood family room coffee table, I tend not to worry too much about a cup or two placed on it. At this point in my life, there is a reason why I like "distressed" furniture! I'm lucky enough to have a cozy area in my "formal" living room (or as the kids call it, "Mom's room) where I like to sneak away with a cup of coffee or tea, a book, or my laptop.
