House Listing Photos

First of all, I want to thank all of you for the encouraging comments on my last post about having to move again!  I am still a bit down about it, but I feel better after reading your thoughts on moving. I thought I'd quickly share some of the photos from the MLS tour that my realtor gave me permission to use.  There are actually quite a few rooms that I never did put up on the blog because they just weren't finished (for me) and because we've only been here a short time.  I also made a few changes for the sake of staging and many of the chandeliers were swapped out.

The pictures aren't as sharp as I would like, but I think it's because I just downloaded them from the listing site and don't have the originals.  It was nice to see some rooms taken with the wide-angle lens and with better camera equipment!  I always have a hard time with interior lighting and capturing the paint colors.
The wide-angle lens makes the wall by the sofa look a bit off in the living room above though...we hung up a chandelier that was in the house previously and took down my crystal chandelier in here as well.
I was glad to finally get some shots of the kitchen.  I've never really shared it here on the blog...not sure why?    As much as I love white cabinetry, I've loved, loved this kitchen!  With soft-close cabinetry, tons of prep room, big gas range, large pantry, I've felt really spoiled.
Actually, I've felt really spoiled with the whole house since there was really no DIY beyond painting and decorating!  The last  house we owned was gutted and completely renovated by us over five years.  My husband said he was done with that for a while and that's why we bought new construction.  There are times when I miss a good reno though!

Another space that I never got around to sharing on here is this great screened porch that we have off the back of the house.  These are a must for living in NC!  Although we built a two-story deck with screened porch off of our old home in Spokane, WA, we didn't use it much just because the weather was really only nice for about three months out of the year.
When we knew that we'd be listing our house, the first thing I did was remove the antler mounts that we had hung around our stone fireplace in our great room, so now it looks a little bare there...

I also switched out my bedding in the master bedroom for something light and airy for spring and replaced the chandelier with a ceiling fan...
The master bath is another one of those rooms that I just hadn't blogged about as I was still debating over paint colors and the direction I wanted to go with it.  I just added some fresh towels, etc and since I had a hard time finding artwork that fit over the bathtub in my budget, I painted my own with a $20 canvas from Hobby Lobby!
Speaking of bathrooms, two of my daughters share this jack-and-jill bath that my mom painted for them last summer...
I've shared my younger daughters' rooms here and here, but my twelve-year-old's room still needed a few things including a headboard treatment, etc.
She's a lucky girl that she hasn't had to share her bathroom with her little sisters and has her own bedroom/bathroom suite...
I have to admit, it's going to be tough finding the same housing value in Greensboro, NC that we've been able to get here, so I'm enjoying our house as much as I can.  I'm actually in a suburb of Raleigh (Clayton) that has incredible housing prices and some of the best schools (which is why we chose to live here).  In fact, the area is routinely ranked in the top ten of Business Week's Best Schools in the Most Affordable Zip Codes!
I wouldn't be moving at all except for the husband's new job...we love it here.  It's a great place to raise a family!
I've got some exciting events coming up, including my first ever trip to High Point Market next weekend with some of my favorite bloggers.  I can't wait!  I've also finished some new furniture pieces that I'll be sharing soon as well.
Have a great weekend!

Kristen

Amazing and I would love to be that new buyer for your home. It would be hard for me to not want to write for all the furniture and drapes to stay because it just makes the home!!! Best of luck! Erica

You have done such a wonderful job with your home, Kristen. I have a feeling this is what's meant to be for you and your family and something special is waiting up ahead for you!

Good luck, Kristen! I'm sure you'll have an offer fast. It's a shame you have to move. Our recent move 1 1/2 years ago from Long Island to Ohio was for my husband's job, too, but I've come to love it here.

Just beautiful! I love it all but the kitchen and master bath would be so difficult to give up. Well, the screened in porch and craft room would be too. :) I'm sure it will sell quickly!

I've been following and loving your blog for some time now. But, it wasn't until I was looking back over some of your earlier posts that I realized I had met you at Farm Chicks in Spokane. You met literally thousands of people that weekend, so I know you couldn't remember me, but I remember you not only because your booth was so creative and lovely, but because, even after a very long weekend, you took the time to visit and were so very sweet. You have a beautiful and enjoyable blog and I have loved watching you create a gorgeous new home for your family. I can only imagine how hard it must be to move again, especially when you'll be leaving that beautiful home behind. I know, however, that we will all love sharing what you create in a new place as you make it equally incredible. My very best wishes as you start this new adventure.

By the way, do you know if your living/dining room drapes are still available? They look like exactly what I've been looking for. They're just beautiful.

Hi Kristen, my name is...Kristen lol. My husband and I just moved into our first home and I was looking for decor ideas when I came across your blog, and although our new home is a fraction of the size yours is, it's almost identical in so many ways and is exactly the feel I was looking for our own home. Good luck on your move and try to keep in mind all the great new things you get experience! You make a beautiful home and will do it again!
