Simple Summer Soiree and French Bee Dining Set

One of the reasons that we were drawn to our current home is the beautiful wooded view beyond our backyard.  Luckily, much of our lot extends back into the woods and the property line backs up to a private, natural buffer that cannot be developed.  It's a beautiful place to build a tree house, explore with the kids...or to have a little summertime soiree!

Most of it is very hilly, but there's perfect patch of flat ground with beautiful overhanging branches...just perfect for hanging some party decor...
Just some handmade yellow tissue poms and antique pub bottles with some greenery and flowers tucked in makes a simple statement.
Add a table and some chairs (I painted this one in ASCP French Linen with touch of dark wax)...
some fresh flowers and a few simple place settings...

and of course, some yummies and sweets!
With the summertime heat setting in, don't forget the ice cold drinks!
And there you have it...a simple summer gathering!
On another note, if you're in the market for a table and chair set for your dining room, breakfast area, or soiree :)...

  3. Gorgeous, Kristen! I love the bee design. I just used a bee and wreath image on a pillow I did for our master recently. That is such a great spot to set up a table and chairs {and it makes for great pictures, too!}.

  11. What a bee-utiful setting (sorry I know that's really lame). The upholstery and finish make this dining room furniture so attractive. Did you by any chance find the burlap bee vase at Ross? I saw them there in several sizes and passed them by. Next time they were gone!

    An outdoor soiree! how fun!
Lovely painted furniture. I just did a French themed Birthday soiree. Lots of burlap, ruffles and rhinestones. I used antique French postcards as party invites and place cards.
    Darling outdoor setting.
    Thanks for sharing.

  31. Hi - That is so lovely! The setting, the accessories - the beautiful table and chairs - plus the goodies!

I have a very similar table (different chairs though)that I bought at an estate sale. The top of the table is beautiful parqueted and distressed walnut) - but it has some damage (done by the owner always keep a plastic tablecloth with the felt backing on it)...so I would want to do something with that first. But I love your use of the French Linen. I bought a can - and so maybe I will try that for the legs and apron - and for the chairs...due to your inspiration!!

Lovely project! Hope you find a buyer...shouln't be hard. I, like you, am looking for a place to sell my furniture as well. I'm on Long Island.
