Spring-Inspired Jewelry & Simple Bird Pendant Tutorial

I don't know about you, but I could skip Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day and head straight to spring!  Even though I don't have much to complain about weather-wise here in NC, I'm just ready for leaves, birds, flowers and green grass. Call it the January blues...

Black Empire Dresser

Right after Christmas, I had the opportunity to take a day with my husband to find some furniture projects for my booth at SuzAnna's.  I just love days like that... just my husband and I picking through some old barns.  I'm not sure what other couples do when their kids are away for the day, but our "days off" over the years have usually consisted of some major house project or something that's not easy to do or safe with the kids around.  Anyway, I found a few projects pieces that day including this beautiful Empire dresser.

DIY Bench Tutorial

First of all, thank you so much for all your sweet comments on the master bedroom reveal I shared last week!  I mentioned in that post that I'd be sharing a tutorial on how to make the bench that my husband and I put together for the end of the bed.  I meant to get it out sooner, but it's been a long week around here.  The bench is a pretty simple building project that can come in handy if you can't find the right look or size of bench for the end of your bed, entryway, etc (or just want to save some money and build your own).

A New Color, Booth News, and Future Projects

I love trying new colors of paint.  There really isn't any color that I don't really like either...maybe orange, but  even in the right shade and setting, I can appreciate orange.  When I paint furniture for resale, I almost always use pale blues and greens, whites and creams, colors that I use in my home.  Lately, I've been branching out a bit more and painting with colors I'm not normally drawn to as well as some saturated ones...have to change things up a bit.

Master Bedroom Reveal

At last, I can finally call my master bedroom complete and I love it!  Welcome to my personal escape... I do have three little kids.  There's is quite a bit to share, so grab that cup of coffee and get comfy...

Living Room - Dining Room Tour and Q&A

I finally finished packing up all the Christmas decorations and I have to admit, it feels nice to have the house back to normal again.  The live trees and fresh greenery were getting pretty dried out and I just wanted to get  everything cleaned up!
