I've always loved those beautiful holiday photos that have large tables with wood planter boxes filled with holiday trimmings, pumpkins for Fall, wheat grass and eggs for springtime, etc. Now I'm excited that I finally have one!
I never had a table long enough for one of these before we moved into our new house. My trestle table is the perfect length for this rustic wood planter box that I picked up from a fellow Luckett's Market vendor. Although it wouldn't be difficult to make one of these, I like how this one was a bit "pre-aged".
I did clean it up a bit with some Navajo White paint and added some of my favorite dark glaze to bring out the details of the wood. I then hand-painted the "Friends and Family" with some ASCP Duck Egg Blue paint and lightly distressed it.
I just filled it with some items from around my home for now as I'm impatiently waiting for small white and heirloom pumpkins to make an appearance in the stores...
It's going to be fun decorating this up for all the holidays!

ReplyDeleteKristen...what a beautiful piece and I just love how you beautifully made the lettering. Love the trestle table and the "peek" of the bench on the background!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful piece, and I love how you customized it. I just found a very long old toolbox and I can't wait to decorate. But first I have to find a table! Is that the horse before the cart? Love the lettering. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
