Hopefully, we've finally put winter behind us! Even if it makes another appearance, I've brought spring into the house anyway! Spring has always been my favorite season, even as a child. I couldn't wait for green grass, birds chirping, baby animals, and sunshine after a long, harsh winter on the farm. Maybe that's why I tend to decorate with spring-like home decor all year round?
Are you ready for Spring yet? I certainly am! Although I can never complain about the winters in North Carolina after living in snow country most of my life, I'm over this weather. Ironically, I'm posting about decorating clay pots for Spring when we are currently in the middle of "snowpocalypse" here in the South. If you're feeling the same way about Winter, then hopefully this little project will cheer you up...

I love a good upholstery project... They may be messy, time-consuming, and can be slightly frustrating, but in the end, I guess I like the extra challenge reupholstering provides compared to just painting furniture. I'm not an expert at it, but have done a few chairs and have learned a few things along the way that I thought I'd share.

Do you long to have a craft room or an office that you can store all your hobby-making materials, paperwork, and miscellaneous office supplies that is unique, stylish, but budget-friendly at the same time? I know I did... for years! I was fortunate to get my dream craft room at our last house, which I shared HERE and I'm pretty lucky that there is small room right off of the foyer in the rental where I could set up shop! If you've been dreaming of an organized office or craft room, but think it takes hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in furniture and organizing supplies, then I have a few tips that will make you think otherwise...

Although I normally share furniture before/afters, room reveals, tablescapes, etc, I've been wanting to share some of the little things that have made maintaining a home and working on projects easier for me. I've mentioned before that I'm sort of a "product junkie" because I love to try all types of paints, cleaners, tools, topcoats, etc. to find out what works best for me. When I find myself reaching for a certain product frequently or am completely amazed at it's effectiveness, I mentally take note so I can pass it along to all of you!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! It's always fun to go back and take a look through the blog and some of the projects that were completed over the year and see which were more popular than others. I thought I'd compile a list of top-ten viewed blog posts that I posted in 2013...
Have you ever been inspired to decorate a room from a scrap of fabric, piece of artwork, or even a pillow? Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember looking forward to wrapping the presents I would get for my family members. It was so fun to get ribbon, bows, and tags and make the gifts look pretty. I can even recall a time (long before I could ever purchase anything) when I wrapped some tinsel and an evergreen branch up in a little box for one of my older brother's Christmas presents! I'm sure he was thrilled to receive that :)

What a whirlwind last few days of decorating it has been! I held off until after Thanksgiving to start decorating for Christmas, but that meant getting all the decorating done quickly. It didn't help that I needed to paint all the walls before I could start decorating either!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I've held off decorating for Christmas until this weekend so I'm knee-deep in ornaments and greenery right now, but I wanted to share some Christmas highlights from the past couple of years from my previous home in case you are also decorating this weekend and would like a bit of inspiration...
Do you ever run across those ornate, gold mirrors at thrift stores, flea markets, auctions, etc and wonder how you can change them up a bit? I find these all the time and they've almost become staples in the booths and shows where I sell from because they are simple to update...
Behind our current home is a giant old oak tree that's at least 150 year old and is just beautiful! Although it's the source of many leaves to rake this Fall, it's also a great setting for a picnic or bite to eat.
I'm back in the saddle again! After not painting furniture for a couple of months because of the move and closing my booth in Raleigh, it felt good to work on new project with a new color. I'm sort of a product junkie when it comes to paint and supplies. I love to try new colors and brands of paint, wax, etc and when Miss Mustard Seed came out with the Eulalie's Sky color for her line of milk paint, I knew I had to try it since I gravitate to blues.
With about 11.5 million sq ft of showspace, I still have so much to see and learn at the High Point Market, but I always walk away inspired. The Market is held twice a year and you might remember my first trip last Spring which I posted HERE and HERE.
A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that the latest move into our rental had been a challenge and that I was slowly coming around to working on a couple of rooms in the rental house. While I will not be attacking most of the house, I've decided to do a mini-makeover for the dining room for a few reasons. 1) It is one of the first rooms you see when you enter the house. 2) I like to set up tablescapes, centerpieces and need a place to set them up. 3) It is one of the few rooms in the house that doesn't need a total overhaul (kitchen, bathrooms, carpets) and is easily cleaned up some fresh paint, etc. I plan to show more of the house later, but I wanted to share a bit of what I'm working on in the dining room and some of my inspiration for the room. This is what I'm working with...

Ever since moving to North Carolina a couple years ago, I've been wanting to travel down to Atlanta for the Country Living Fair at Stone Mountain, but the timing has never been right. I'm excited to say that I'm making it happen this year and will be traveling down to attend. I'm even more excited to announce that I'm giving away a pair of 3-day passes!
